"Celebrating Victory Over Communism - Honoring America's Heroes"

George Washington University Students Engage Other Students At Their Berlin Wall Event
Join Young America's Foundation each year to celebrate this annual, week-long event that will advance conservative ideas, honor America's soldiers, and expose the Left's antiquated ideology. Young America's Foundation has developed this program to provide you with free button, fliers, and activism ideas in order to promote Freedom Week on campus. In addition, select Foundation Speakers are available to tour the country throughout the week. During Freedom Week, there are two significant dates in which you can build programs around:
- The Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall
A significant milestone occurs each year that is often overlooked on college campuses: the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. America's victory over communism is a significant event that is ignored by administrators and faculty members. In fact, even though Marxist ideas have been soundly repudiated, leftist student groups and professors still fervently preach these ideas and encourage others to embrace them as well. One goal of Freedom Week is celebrate this victory over communism by educating students on this historical event. Another important aspect is to remind young people about the horrors committed by socialist/communist governments and question why many leftist students and professors at your school still advocate these ideas.
- Veteran's Day
Another important part of Freedom Week is Veterans' Day. Thousands of servicemen and women are proudly serving in Iraq and around the world helping to defend America and win the War on Terror. Unfortunately, students at your school are inundated by messages from the news media and leftist student groups who daily attack America's military efforts to affect morale and weaken our country's resolve to achieve victory. Organize a rally to support the troops, hold a fundraiser for our soldiers serving in Iraq and their families, and ensure all students on your campus have the right and receive proper credit for attending ROTC.
