Begin Your Career in the Conservative Movement with the Sarah T. Hermann Intern Scholars Program

Roger Custer first began as a Young America's Foundation campus activist and intern and now is the conference director for Young America's Foundation.

You can begin your career in the Conservative Movement with a Young America's Foundation internship. We are always looking for bright conservative minds to intern at the Foundation's headquarters in Herndon, VA and at the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, CA.

We are looking for interns who are motivated, ambitious, dedicated to the Conservative Movement, and are eager to accept responsibility. As a Young America's Foundation intern you will be on the front lines of the Conservative Movement helping to organize conferences, introduce leading conservative speaker, and organize campus programs. You will leave having an understanding of how a prominent conservative organization operates.

Many of our interns go on to accept a full-time position with the Foundation. Who you ask? Vice President Patrick Coyle, Conference Director Roger Custer, Assistant to Programs and Operations, Ana Lightle, and Assistant to Reagan Ranch Center Development & Supporter Relations, Meredith Ramsey.

A Young America's Foundation internship is a great way to show us your talents to get your foot in the door of the Conservative Movement.

Washington, D.C. Internships
Our Sarah T. Hermann summer interns are responsible for the planning and execution of our National High School Leadership Conference and National Conservative Student Conference. You'll stay with all the students, participate in the programming, plan the speaker selection, help with registration, compile conference materials, suggest designs for the popular conference t-shirt, introduce speakers (some air LIVE on C-SPAN), and have a great time doing it all!

In addition, our team will help determine your skills and interests, and we'll find projects that suit your talents. If you like to write, we'll have you write an article for our signature publication, Libertas. If you enjoy research, perhaps you can find information on commencement speaker slant. The opportunities are endless!

Interns are provided with a stunning $1,200 monthly stipend, but you must find your own housing and have access to a car. In addition, interns have free tuition at both of our summer conferences (a $3,000 value!) and receive loads of free books by conservative authors throughout their time with the Foundation. Santa Barbara, California Internships
As an intern at the Reagan Ranch Center, you will come in contact with the life and values of one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century. You will experience first hand the core beliefs that Ronald Reagan cherished as well as work to preserve Rancho Del Cielo—the ranch that President Reagan loved. You will have the chance to meet important conservative activists as well as influential supporters of the conservative movement.

Interns help lead tours of the Regan Ranch as well as host events at this historic Presidential site. Opportunities abound as you work directly with our top notch development team to cultivate supporter relationships as well as lend valuable help in organizing and planning supporter events.

Interns at the Reagan Ranch will be given challenging assignments and asked to research some of the current and controversial topics of the day. You will have the chance to advance your writing skills by composing articles for our feature publication, Libertas.

You will have the chance to personally work at the Ranch and see first hand what it takes to preserve and upkeep a Presidential property. You will help our Ranch Curator archive historical items while conducting valuable research on exhibits and ranch preservation.

Interns are given a $1,200 monthly stipend, however we do not provide housing so it is necessary for you to acquire your own place of residency while you intern with us. You will also need access to a car as there is no public transportation in Santa Barbara. Occasionally, it is required for interns to work on a Saturday but you are given a comp day to take at your convenience.

The experience, training and information you will receive as an intern with Young America's Foundation will impact your entire life and help you become a better leader not only on your college campus but also throughout your career and life.
